My basement has what looks like wooden I beams supporting the first floor above. I think it is composed of a pair of 2x2's for the ends with 1/2" to 3/4" plywood or particle board inbetween. I mounted 2x4's between a pair of these to support my rings. The 2x4 sits on top of the bottom 2x2 of the I beam and is actually secured into the thinner plywood.
Was this a good way to do it? Is anyone familiar with these types of beams and know if my weight will be too much? I plan on kipping on these.
